What is it?
- A quick, non-invasive service performed by passing x-ray beams, a form of ionizing radiation, through your body.
- This is absorbed by dense materials better.
- Typically x-rays can pick up bones and metals quite well.
- Specially trained technicians and physicians read these images to diagnose and assess medical conditions or injuries.
Risks?
- You are being exposed to small amounts of ionizing radiation during an x-ray. However, the benefits outweigh the risks of receiving this testing.
- If you are suspected as pregnant, please let the technician and your physician know as soon as possible, other testing may be more suitable for you at this time.
Preparation
- No prior preparation needed
- You may be required to change into a medical gown that will be provided.
- Patients must remove all jewelry/piercings and metal objects (belts, zippers, etc.)
Infant and Toddler Chest Imaging:

Please note that we do not have a Pig-O -Stat at our location and therefore we are unable to perform X Rays on infants.
Toddlers must be able to stand independently .
